ALESSIO ISSUPOFF (1889-1957)
Alessio Issupoff was a Russian painter and graphic artist.
Studied at Moscow College of art, sculpture and architecture in the studios of A. Archipov, V. Serov, K. Korovin and A. Vasnetsov. From 1913 participated in many exibitions
In 1925 moved to Italy where he became a well known artist. He had the personal exhibition in Rome (1927, 1928, 1933, 1945), Milan (1929 – 1931), Bergamo (1935), Turin (1937), also exhibited in France, Holland and Belgium.
Issupoff painted portraits, landscapes, still life, and genre painting. In 1967 artist’s wife brought to Moscow and donated to Kirow’s Museum of Art over 300 paintings by Isupov, as per his will. His works also are in National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rome; Uffizi Gallery, Florence; Contemporary Art Gallery, Naples.
