ALEXANDER TYSHLER 1898 — 1980
Alexander Tyshler was born in Melitopol, Ukraine.
In 1912 – 1917 studied in Kyiv Art School. In 1917—1918 studied in Kyiv with Alexandra Exter and met with Ilya Erenburg, Оsip Mandelshtam.
In 1921 moved to Moscow and in 1922 started to work in the theater. In these years he met Vladimir Mayakovsky, Sergey Esenin, Velimir Khlebnikov, Lev Bruni, Robert Falk, Аlexander Osmerkin, Nathan Altman, Аristarkh Lentulov, Piotr Konchalovsky and others.
From 1924 participated in different exhibitions in USSR (more than 50) and other countries like France, Italy, Germany, England, US, Canada, Japan etc.
Alexander Tyshler always worked in many theaters of Moscow, Leningrad and other cities and received numerous awards.
His works are in State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg; Tretyakov gallery, Moscow; Pushkin Museum, Moscow; Bakhrushin State Central Museum, Moscow; Museum Ludwig, Cologne, and many others.
