MARIA SINIAKOVA
MARIA SINIAKOVA 1890—1984
Maria Siniakova was a Ukrainian painter (Cubo-Futurist, Supremacist, Constructivist) and illustrator.
She was born 1890 in Kharkiv. She attended Evgenii Agafonov’s Blue Lily Studio in Kharkiv and the studios of Ilia Mashkov and Fedor Rerberg in Moscow.
She was a member of the Repeinik and Vykus groups in Kharkiv, of Union of Youth group in St. Petersburg and of the Union of Seven.
She was coauthor of Cubo-Futurist manifesto Trumpet of the Martians (Kharkiv, 1916), collaborated on the Co-Futurist book Liren (Lyroon) (Kharkiv – Moscow) and illustrated poems by Nikolai Asseev, Grigirii Petnikov, Aleksei Kruchenykh and other avant-garde writers
Her works are in the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, Tretyakov gallery in Moscow, Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the other leading museums and prominent collections of Russia, Europe, and America.
